Springtime fun

We have had a fun spring. We went to Disneyland and Sea World for Spring Break. We had a great time. We had Tonya's birthday lunch with Shamu for the second year in a row. We went on a Whale Watching trip. It was awesome!! We saw a humpback whale and a grey whale. What a memory!!

We are eagerly awaiting Kherrington's (Trevor's and Megan's baby) appearance. Megan was put on bed rest April 2nd and we are praying for her and Kherrington. Trey and Tammy's first grandchild! Words cannot express the excitement the whole family is feeling!! Megan looks great!

We have Elder Thomas Whiting's release date -- August 6, 2009. He is working so hard and has such a great attitude on his mission, yet we are excited to get him home and hang out with him.

Happy New Year from the "Whitings left behind"

Happy New Year to everyone!
We had a great time at our annual Squires Family Christmas Party. We had a good dinner and then played the Dirty Santa game. It is so good to see family at this time.
Christmas day was fun, it was wonderful to talk to Thomas on the phone. He sounded so great and only had to ask his greenie companion a few times "what is that word in english?" So we know that he is totally immersed in his mission and the Spanish language. His attitude is so awesome, he was knocking on doors last Sunday, the temperature was -30 degrees and no one would let them and he couldn't feel his feet -- but he reassures me that he is happy and is choosing to have a good attitude no matter what! That is so awesome.

December Birthdays

Why women live longer than men!

We had 2 birthdays in December so far. Ava turned one on December 11, and Tyler turned 25 on December 13.
Jenna threw a surprise birthday party for Tyler on Friday, Dec 12. It was awesome. Tyler was really surprised, lots of friends and family showed up. The food was awesome and the company amazing. We all had a great time!
Ava had her party on Saturday, Dec 13. We all had a great time playing and having good food. Ava had a great cake.
Tanner sang in the Taylor Junior High Chorale Choir. He had a solo and did a great job.
I love December, reflecting on Mary and Joseph, traveling at that difficult time in a pregnancy, finding a stable for Mary's labor and for the birth of the Savior of the World. The Angels proclaiming the miracle to the shepherds and the Heavenly hosts singing and glorifying God. I am happy to take part in this celebration at this time. My heart overflows with love for our Savior, the Atonement and the Gospel.
Love,
Tammy

The "Whitings left behind" are signing in again. We have had a great November. We just got back from our traditional trip to the Dunes for Thanksgiving. We had a great time and all returned safe and sound -- and for that I am always grateful! We have fun riding our quads and the Sand rail. We hang out with the Scott family, eating lots of great food and playing around. We had fun chatting around the fire and watching movies together.
Tonya had this last week off, one of the few she will have as a first year Resident. She has been working at Good Samaritan Hospital. She will have to work on Christmas Day and New Year's Day so we wanted to make sure that we spent this time with her at the Dunes.
Trevor and Megan are excited to have a baby in May 2009. Trey and I are thrilled to be Grandparents!! Trevor is running Sun Silks for Trey and Megan works at Montessori Education Centre as a teacher assistant. Megan is also taking the Infant Toddler Montessori Training.
Tyler and Jenna are both working and going to school. Tyler works for Trey at Great Gates and Jenna works at Montessori Education Centre as a teacher assistant. Jenna will graduate in May of 2009 and then plans on taking the AMS Montessori training for First to Third Grade.
Thomas is in the Illinois Chicago North Mission. He has learned Spanish and loves his mission. He will be home August 1, 2009.
Trent is attending Mesa High as a Sophomore. He has only missed 8 days of school this semester. He had an accident on his quad January of 2007 and from that time for 18 months he had many tests for various conditions, both gastric and otherwise. He was never diagnosed with anything definitive, however, he is now doing great and we are so very grateful.
Tanner is attending Taylor Junior High as an Eighth grader. He sings in the Concert Choir and gets straight As in all of his classes. He played in a Fall baseball league and we had fun watching him.
We have a "Whiting Thanksgiving book" and our goal is to write 1000 things that we are grateful for before Christmas. Over this weekend we wrote 250 things so we are on the way to achieving our goal! Writing out what we are grateful for helps strengthen my feelings of gratitude and fills my heart with happiness for my life.
Love,
Tammy

Hi from the Whitings left behind.

We are the Whitings left behind, Trey, Tammy Trent and Tanner. This house once upon a time had eight people living here -- four have moved on. Tonya married Daniel Scott and they live close by. Trevor married Megan Price and they live close by. Tyler married Jenna Scott and they live in Northeast Mesa. Thomas is on a mission in the Illinois Chicago North Mission (Spanish speaking).
Trent is a sophomore at Mesa High School.
Tanner is in the Eighth Grade at Taylor Junior High.
As a family the things we love are:
The Dunes -- family trips to the Buttercup Sand Dunes
Camping -- spending nights in our toy hauler
Family trip to Hawaii this last June, (to celebrate Tonya graduating from Midwestern University -- she is now a Doctor of Osteopathy)
family dinners together
family time
watching Tanner play baseball
Loving on Ava
Going to Church together
I am excited to start a blog and participate in this cool sharing.
Love,
Tammy
